Welcome to the memorial page for

Rose-Ann D. Dietzler

February 14, 1938 ~ October 13, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Rose-Ann Domenica (Solazzo) Dietzler, 79, was born on February 14, 1938 at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago Illinois to Marion Janet (Carlsen) and Rosolino (Roy) Solazzo. Her brother, Guy Harold, was born 9 years later. Rose-Ann’s father, Roy, died in early Spring 1964. Her mother, Marion, remarried in 1973 to Theodore (Ted) Dufoe.

Rose-Ann grew up with her cousins in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago and attended Lafayette Elementary School and graduated from Charles P. Steinmetz High School in June 1956. She loved ballet and took ballet lessons for many years and danced in many local recitals. After high school, Rose-Ann worked at Arthur’s Candy, Danella’s Bakery and Bell Telephone. She spent a year living in Southern California with her Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Frank Solazzo and cousins before returning to Chicago to marry Michael Stanley Dietzler on February 15, 1958. Rose-Ann and Mike had three daughters, Janet Louise (Anderson), Ann Michele (died December 12, 1962), and Beth Suzanne (Hendrix), and three grandchildren Michael Garry (Anderson), Lauren Ann (Anderson) and Makayla Suzanne (Hendrix). They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this year (2017).

Rose-Ann and Mike moved from Chicago, Illinois to Roswell, New Mexico in 1979 after Rose-Ann was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She made a beautiful home and welcomed many friends and family over the 26 years they lived there. Rose-Ann served as election judge for local, state and Federal elections and enjoyed working at the polls.  Rose-Ann and Mike moved to Brighton, Colorado in October 2005 after Mike retired so that they could be closer to family. She spent her time making a comfortable home for Mike, and for their kids and grandchildren to visit and celebrate the holidays.

Rose-Ann died on October 13, 2017 at Life Care Center of Westminster, in Westminster, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband Mike, her parents, Marion and Roy, her stepfather Ted, and her daughter Ann Michele. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Garry) and Beth (Thomas), her grandchildren, Michael, Lauren and Makayla, and her brother, Guy (Susan).
