Kathryn (Kay) Elizabeth Lewellyn Adams, died peacefully in Broomfield, Colorado on December 5, 2017 at the age of 86.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Raymond "Ken" (Diane) Dees of Westminster, Colorado and Deborah K. (Bob) Mager of Rogers, Arkansas. Her sister, Iva Jo Stephens of Palmer, Texas, grandchildren, Christopher (Char) Dees of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Aaron (Darcy) Dees of Westminster, Colorado, Misti (Benjie) Gentry of Nashville, Tennessee, Scott (Hannah) Mager of Fayetteville, Arkansas, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean L. Adams, brother, Alton Pursley of Odessa, Texas, and sisters Elma Jean Hargrove of Seymour, Texas and Wanda Sue Rabb of Houston, Texas.
Kathryn was born on February 26, 1931, in Wink, Texas to Iva Myrtle Lewellyn and Joseph Kendall Lewellyn. She was married to Wilford A. Dees for 30 years and later married Dean L. Adams.
Kathryn was a homemaker and day care provider. She served in children’s ministries and enjoyed traveling.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2:00pm with visitation from 1:00-2:00pm at Lutheran Church of Hope in Broomfield, Colorado. Pastor Larry Dramann of East Boulder Baptist Church will officiate at the ceremony and Pastor Scott McAnally of Lutheran Church of Hope will officiate at the graveside service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kathryn’s life. The family would like to thank the staff at Villagio of Broomfield and Compassionate Hospice Care for their care and dedication.
