Robert H. Gaiser

June 11, 1927 ~ October 3, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Robert H Gaiser 90, passed away on October 3rd, 2017, in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida. He was born in Cleveland Ohio, June 11,1927. Son of Robert F. and Mildred Gaiser, and brother to Betty White, all deceased. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nadine Oman Gaiser.

He attended Denver University. He served in the Signal Corps, in the second World War. In 1953, Bob and his father purchased land for the home development of Holly Hills and Holly Ridge. In 1960, they donated land for the Cherry Creek, Holly schools. He developed Plaza de Monaco Shopping Center, hi-rise apartments, town homes and offices at Monaco and Yale. He redeveloped Pheasant Ridge, a barn built by Temple Buell into the Village Club. His created talent was used to build health clubs; Racquet World, the Inverness Colorado Athletic Club, the beautiful Sedona Golf course and Health Club in Arizona. Additionally Mr. Gaiser built the first Marriott hotel west of the Mississippi in 1973 located on Hampden Ave in Denver.

Gaiser used his athletic facilities to support charities such as Cystic Fibrosis and the Save Our Children Society. He initiated the “Colorado Proud” campaign. which was used throughout Colorado. He was a strong contributor in the groundbreaking of the Yale YMCA, Kiwanis and Rotary Club. He served on many boards such as, Columbine Bank, Youth for Christ International, and A Voice for Children. He traveled on 21 mission trips with YFCI and Global Connection. He continued his father’s legacy in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

In June, his 90th birthday, was celebrated with friends and family including 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Karen Winiecki whom he married in 2005, his sons, Robert Curtis Gaiser, Steven Carter Gaiser, Pamela Gaiser Mutz, husband H. William Mutz, Rebekah Gaiser Tesone, husband Thomas Tesone, and daughter in law Nancy Gaiser. 

Viewing will be held at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry Street Castle Rock, CO 80104 on Friday, October the 13, 2017, from 12 noon to 8 PM. A Prayer service at 7 PM.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am at Epiphany Lutheran Church. Saturday, October 14, 2017. Located at 550 E. Wolfensberger Road, Castle Rock, CO 80109
