Wayne Arthur Salter

September 13, 1941 – August 23, 2019

Wayne was born on September 13, 1941 in Oakland, California.  He had two younger brothers, Dale and Gary.  His first job was as paperboy delivering the Oakland Tribune.  Then he worked as a clerk at a grocery store.  He graduated from San Leandro High School in 1959.

Wayne married Carol July 30, 1959 and then went to work at the San Francisco Naval Ship Yard.  Wayne completed an apprenticeship and became a journeyman pipefitter.  They had two sons, Steve and Jamie.  In 1969 they moved to Northglenn, CO.  He began working at Gates Rubber Company as a pipe fitter.  He retired in 2001 after 33 years at Gates as the Manager of Utilities and Environments.  During his retirement he served for several years at Crossroads Church as Facility Manager.

Wayne and Carol recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.  Along with two sons, they have 3 grandchildren; 7 ½ great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.  Wayne will be deeply missed.  He died August 23, 2019 of congestive heart failure.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 12:30pm at Crossroads Church in Northglenn, CO.
