Walle Forbes, was born December 20, 1929 in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada to the parents Alfred and Lydia, she passed away peacefully at her home in Colorado on October 10, 2020, surrounded by her family. She started her life on a farm, with two brothers and one sister – she was second born – among Harry, Herb and Eleanor.
She went to psychiatric nursing school in British Columbia so that she would have a viable career in the states. She came to California after working at Essondales in British Columbia. She found herself in San Francisco working there before coming to Sacramento, California. She met Bill, her husband and worked for Sutter Memorial hospital for over 30 years and then retired from there. She and Bill raised two children, Judy and Rodney. They created family memories of traveling to Canada, and across the United States to visit family and see State and National Parks. After Bill passed in 1978, Walle refused to sit idly by and began her life as an independent woman.
She loved bowling, fishing, playing bridge, reading a good book, music and camping with friends. She enjoyed traveling and even visited Morocco. She loved animals, took care of rabbits, dogs (Rocket was her favorite) and the local stray cat – even thought she was allergic to cats. Walle enjoyed watching Baseball, Basketball, Hockey and Horseracing.
Grandchildren entered the scene in 1984 with Maria and then again in 2001 and 2004 with Jacob and Andrew. Walle lived in Orangevale, California for over 50 years and had made many friends. She moved to Colorado in 2017 to live with her son and spend time with Jacob and Andrew.
Preceded in death by husband William, and survived by her brothers and sister: Harry (Florence), Herb (Lorna), Eleanor (Gordon) and her children: Judy and Rodney (Sharon) Grandchildren: Maria, Jake & Drew.
She will be deeply missed
