Timothy Burnett Obituary

Timothy Lee Burnett was born in Shamrock Texas on July 23, 1966 to Calvin Lee and Sonja Burnett. His name means "One who Honors God". This is what Tim tried to do throughout his life.

Tim was always drawn to eagles. The eagle flies higher than any other bird. Some have even said that the eagle has touched the face of God. The eagle has great vision. Eagles love a storm. Even when other birds will fly to safety from the winds, the eagle will use the storms power to lift itself to even greater heights. Last but never least, the eagle, although fierce and sometimes aggressive, has an unmatched ability to nurture its young. The eagles nest is built like a fortress to keep enemies at bay while the inside is soft and comforting for young birds. An eagle will protect its young from predators till the death if needed. They will shield their children from the storm until they are mature enough to face the storm on their own.

Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Tim shared all of these qualities with the eagle. He sought the face of God. Tim never backed down from a challenge or storm in his life. He learned from his trials and used them to push forward to greater things. Tim was often able to see things that others would not. He saw the good in a person that wasn't always obvious to one without keen spiritual vision. In the same respect he was able to discern what was false in another and wasn't easily fooled by a mask. Then, as the eagle, Tim loved and protected his children with every ounce of his being. He wanted to prepare his children for the storms of life. He understood that one day they would have to traverse the winds on their own and he gave everything to ensure that they had the strength to do this and that they knew to lean on the Lord when their own strength was failing.  His depth of love and devotion to his family was unsurpassed and is the legacy that he leaves behind.

Tim is survived by his Mother, Sonja Burnett; his children, Callie Wells, Timothy Calvin (TC) Burnett, and Logan Burnett; Son In Law Jason Wells, Daughter in law Mellinie Burnet; his 8 siblings and his 10 grandchildren, all whom he loved very much.

Tim called Alabama home and this will be his final resting place.
