Nathan was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago where he was a varsity athlete in football and wrestling for the Glenbard South Raiders. He was a fearless competitor with a great lateral drop. Nathan earned an accounting degree from Miami University of Ohio and his CPA while working for Bank One (Chase Bank) in Chicago. He was a passionate fan of Chicago sports, Chicago food, and his life-long Chicago friendships. Go Bears! Go Cubs!
In 2005, Nathan pivoted into law earning a Doctorate of Jurisprudence at Sturm College of Law in Denver. He built a successful career in Estate Law, becoming the Managing Partner of Solem, Williams & McKinley, P.C., guiding his clients through difficult litigation with his strong work ethic, intelligence, and compassion. While in Colorado, Nathan built a vast network of close relationships with his classmates, colleagues, and a dedicated group of friends. He was an unwavering supporter of others, helping those in need whenever they needed it. He also loved Denver and the Rocky Mountains and often took trips with family and friends to ski and snowboard in the beautiful mountain towns.
Nathan was an incredibly funny and loving son, brother, and uncle. He especially cherished his close relationships with his niece, Maggie (Mag-a-Roo) and nephew Ben (Benny Bag o’ Donuts). He gave terrific nicknames and was also an advocate for pre-dinner ice cream runs to Wilson’s Ice Cream Shop in Door County, Wisconsin.
In short, Nathan lived a wonderful life. He was taken too soon but loved deeply and was deeply loved. We will miss him. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all friends and extended family for their love and support during this difficult time.
