Margaret Comrie Bryson passed away peacefully next to her husband Bill at their home in Broomfield, Colorado on November 29th, 2022.
Margaret was born in Stirling, Scotland on June 5th, 1938, the youngest daughter of John and Esther Comrie. Margaret is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill; daughter Linda Cangilla and husband Philip; daughter Susie Bryson and partner Courtney; grandchildren Hannah & Luke Cangilla, brother John Comrie and wife Helen; sister-in-law, Letty Jaap, and many loving nieces and nephews. Her dedicated caregivers, including Danya Chavez, her angel on earth.
Margaret was preceded in death by her two sisters Jean Duncan and Georgina Rushton.
Raised in Tillicoultry, Scotland, a small village bordered by the Ochil Hills, Margaret spent many happy days running the glens before moving to New Zealand in her late teens. Margaret met her husband, Bill, at her brother John’s soccer game at age 20. They married on April 9, 1960 in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Margaret called several places “home” over the course of her life. Scotland, New Zealand, a time in Tokyo, Japan; 16 years in Golden Valley, MN; followed by time in Overland Park, KS; Woodstock, GA; and finally, Broomfield, CO.
Margaret was a dedicated homemaker and active in many religious and social organizations including: Twin Cities Scottish Club, Peace Presbyterian Church, Overland Park Garden Club, Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sow ‘n Grow Garden Club of Broomfield, International Lunch Group of Broomfield, and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, sister, auntie and granny. She embraced life and had an infectious spirit and kindness felt by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. Margaret will be dearly missed by family, friends, community and caregivers.
A Memorial will be held at Church Ranch Event Center at 10200 Wadsworth Blvd., Westminster, CO on December 12th, 2022, at 10am.
