God called Elva Elly Rothschild home on November 13, 2020, after 92 years of life lived to the fullest. Born in Rivera, Uruguay, she went far and travelled the world over with her husband of 63 years, Hans Rothschild. Yet, she never forgot her roots, her family, or her friends.
She lived for others. She loved, she lived, she gave, and finally, God called her to eternity with Him.
As a young woman, she worked as a teacher, expressing her passion for nurturing children. This grew throughout her life, as exhibited with her own children, grandchildren, and many more.
She was an avid fan of the Uruguayan National Soccer Team, a fine bowler, and developed a passion for Tennis through her volunteering at the Miami Open for many years. Players knew her for the delicious treats she made and the way she pampered them. Her grandkids also remember her for the delicious food she prepared, especially her milanesas, flan, and rice pudding.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Hans Rothschild, and son and daughter-in-law, Ric and Pauline, grandchildren Stephanie, Oliver, Nicolas and Andrew, as well as two brothers in Uruguay, Elner and Kelbi, their families, and the families of her other three siblings. She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Gabriela and Ana Lia, as well as her siblings Chilo, Diory, and Dilka. She was loved by many, of all ages and countries, backgrounds, cultures, and she will be dearly missed, though we know she is in a better place.
Elva Elly, Vovo, Vita, la coronela... rest in peace. November 1, 1928 – November 13, 2020.
