Donald Mellott Obituary

Donald Dean Mellott, 67, passed away peacefully on October 23rd in Broomfield Colorado. He was born January 6th 1953 in McCook Nebraska to Lowell Mellott and Marjorie Matthies. Don lived in Massachusetts, Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas throughout his life. Much of his life was spent in Westminster, Colorado raising his family. He worked for a phone company and in retirement worked security at his favorite place, Coors Field in Denver. Don was a faithful servant of the Lord and attended various churches. Even late in his disease he helped with Sunday school at Glennon Heights up until late March. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, meeting new people, attending baseball games, taking road trips and laughing. Donald is survived by his two children, Emily Mellott of Maui, Ryan Mellott of Estes Park, former wife Mary Beth McKinney of Westminster, and siblings; Barbara Mellott of Salina Kansas, Rodney Mellott of Lakewood, and Robert Mellott of Westminster. He is also survived by two sister-in-laws; Teresa and Brynn Mellott, and four nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents Lowell Mellott and Marjorie Matthies as well as his stepmother Joyce Spiller. Services will be held in the Spring when the family is able to gather in person. Relatives and friends will be welcome to attend. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Donald Mellott to the Alzheimer’s Association.
