Carol Boyd Obituary

Carol Jane Boyd, age 79, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away October 30, 2021 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, Colorado peacefully with family at her side.

Jane was born on December 3, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended grade school at St. Theresa and graduated from St. Josephs Academy in 1959 before attending Mankato State University in 1959. Jane met her husband, John Alexander Boyd, Jr. in 1961 on a blind date and were married on September 22, 1963 and spent the next 51 years together creating a life of memories.

Jane started her professional career in 1960 at Freeman in Des Moines, Iowa and was a dedicated employee for the next 31 years including many positions in Des Moines, Houston, Las Vegas, Dallas and Atlanta. Jane eventually retired in 1991 and moved to Breckenridge, Colorado opening a Southwestern Gift Store, Goodness Knows What. Jane and John spent their later years driving to Corvette races around the country and to all their children’s homes to visit their grandchildren – more than 40,000 miles a year!

Jane was a creative artist, an avid gardener, a giving wife, dedicated mother and loyal friend to everyone who came across her in life. She was a caregiver to all and gave her time, energy and love to those who needed help and never asked or accepted anything in return.

Carol Jane Boyd is preceded in death by her husband, John Alexander Boyd, Jr; her parents, Jack and Bonnie Carson; and her brother, Johnny Carson.  Jane is survived by her sister, Janet Holms; brother-in-law, Donald Holms; and Sister-in-law, Gerri Witkay. Jane also leaves a blossoming family including children Carol Boyd, Carrie Mooney, Jack Boyd and Bob Boyd; also son-in-law, Chris Mooney, daughters-in-law Jinger Boyd and Eileen Boyd. Jane is also survived by her twelve grandchildren: Mackenzie Ramirez, Megan Mooney, Mason Boyd, Matt Ramirez, Miller Boyd, Madison Mooney, Michael Mooney, Mary Boyd, Mallory Mooney, Michael Ramirez, Carson Boyd, and Maxwell Boyd.
