Carman Alfonso, 82, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on July 29, 2022 with his family by his side. Carman is survived by his wife, daughter, two grandsons, and four sisters and brothers along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
How do we pay tribute to such a generous man who always gave his time, wisdom and love to everyone he touched?
He was a good husband, an amazing father, an inspirational and gentle grandpa and beloved friend. Carman was a peaceful man who embraced life. He shared with his family and friends wisdom, encouragement and unconditional love. He taught us the importance of family and friendships; to never lose sight of where you came from, and to have an idea of where you'd like to go in your life.
Carmen was the rock that everyone would lean on and was always there when it mattered. He never gave up; he took whatever life threw at him and made the best of each moment. He had so many ideas and things he wanted to do and was quick to jump in to help others with large and small projects. No matter what, he found ways to work smarter, not harder, and conveyed to us the importance of following rules. He found joy in the simple things, and relished in the accomplishments of his work and the work of others. Carman was the most generous kind spirited man; he loved being able to help others, and always put the needs of others first. He was a hero to so many people he touched.
Carman loved to toe-tap and sing along to his favorite songs. He enjoyed sitting outside and gazing at the clouds above him. He cherished his family to no end and was a protector of anyone he came to know. The impact he had on this word is far beyond any words that can express. He was witty, humorous and loving. He always managed to find a positive outlook to any situation; good or bad.
We are so fortunate and blessed to have had such a generous and loving man in our lives. That’s what is keeping us, his family, going. Being able to take his positive perspective during these difficult times, and make the most of the beautiful life we have to live.
His guidance and presence will be with us always for generations to come.
