Andrea Jane Orrison

Andrea Jane Orrison, 70, of Denver CO, passed away on December 23, 2022 after a yearlong battle with recurrent cancer.

Andrea was born on October 7, 1952, to Doris and Carl Orrison in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her family settled in Glenwood Springs in 1963. She attended Glenwood Springs High School and Colorado Mountain College.

She married Eric Pedersen in 1970 and had 3 sons, Christian, Nathan and Niklaus. After her divorce in 1994, she moved her bookstore up valley and settled in El Jebel, CO where she lived until grandkids came along. In 2017, she moved to Denver to be closer to her sons and their families.

Andrea had several careers, including working in the administration of the family beer distributorship, Orrison Distributing, Inc. She then focused on her dream job as she opened and managed her own bookstore, Andrea’s Journeys in Glenwood Springs, and El Jebel Colorado.

After retiring from the book business, she held a variety of jobs in the hospitality industry and was caretaker for her aging mother. After her mother’s passing, she worked a few more years in the Pitkin County, CO building department and again in the hospitality industry before completely retiring in 2017.

Andrea was a lifelong animal lover, riding and caring for horses as a child. As an adult, she was a lover of cats and dogs. After her mother’s passing, she spent her free time traveling to dog shows with her camping trailer, showing her dogs and spending time with camp set up anywhere scenic. After moving to Denver, her life was all about Grandkids, crocheting and literature.

Andrea is preceded in death by her father Carl, her mother Doris and her 2nd son Nathan.
She is survived by her sons Christian and Niklaus, her grandchildren Nathan, Dominik, Kamden and Aliyah, her brother Timothy and her nephew Thomas.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, April 29, 2023, 1:00 pm at her son’s residence, 995 S Field St, Lakewood CO 80226.
