Barbara Jean Higgins, age 69, passed away in her home in Broomfield, Colorado on March 5, 2019. She was born on March 28, 1949 to George Higgins and Regina Sullivan. She lived in San Francisco throughout her childhood and moved to Concord, California where she started her family. Once her children were grown and out of the house she moved to Broomfield, Colorado to begin her new life.
Throughout her career Barbara held various positions for several banks including, Wells Fargo, Crocker, and Bank of the West, where she ultimately retired from after a combined 30 years of experience..
Barbara was a devout Catholic and actively involved in her church community. While in California, Barbara attended St. Francis of Assisi and volunteered with the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). When she moved to Colorado she immediately became connected with Nativity of Our Lord. She cherished her time with Communion and Liberation, the Stevens Ministry, Endow and many other groups within the parish. Beyond her involvement with the church, she volunteered every week for ten years at the local food bank F.I.S.H.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Amber Stavros, Stephen Stavros and Michelle Celleri. As well as her two grandchildren Brayden Stavros and Dylan Stavros.
There will be a rosary in memory of Barbara at 10:00 AM on March 15th, 2019 followed by a funeral mass at 10:30AM. Services will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church located at 900 W. Midway Blvd., Broomfield, CO 80020. Reception to follow. Barbara will be interned at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, California.
