Allen L. Yerxa was born April 15th, 1941, and passed away on December 16th, 2019. He was born in Denver Colorado and moved to Rifle where he graduated from Rifle High School. After Graduation, Allen went into the Marines and served for 4 years. Then Allen attended Arizona State University where he meet his wife Janice. Following their graduation from ASU, they moved to Arvada where he started to teach in the Jefferson County School District for 7 years. Then Allen began to work in the insurance industry where he was a Farmers Agent for 30 years. He really enjoyed working as a agent as well as helping individuals with their Insurance needs. The UFAA Organization provided an opportunity to be involved with the Legal position as a Board member for approximately 4 years.
Allen thoroughly enjoyed retirement. His grandchildren were the sunshine of his life. Doing activities with Mason and Kylie gave Allen so much enjoyment. Allen loved to RV camp with family and friends as well as ATVing on the Farm in Kimble, Nebraska. Fishing and hiking were other activities that Allen’s enjoyed. Winter brought fun moments on the ski slopes. Allen loved being the first one down and nothing stopped him! Allen and a Janice enjoyed traveling. Spain was the trip of a lifetime, to celebrate Allen and Janice’s 50th Anniversary. These traveling memories will be cherished by family, friends and loved ones for ever!
Allen is survived by his wife Janice L. Yerxa, his daughter Crystal A. White, grandson Mason M White and granddaughter Kylie M. White.
Allen’s celebration of life and services have been indefinitely postponed. The family will still welcome guests at the committal at Fort Logan as indicated under “service details”.
