William (Bill) McGee passed away peacefully in his home in Thornton, CO on Monday, February 17th, 2025. Bill was born in New Jersey on May 19, 1948 to Robert and Ellen McGee, and grew up there with older brother Robert (Bob.) Bill attended Catholic grammar school and high school before attending college at Fairfield University in Connecticut, where he also played basketball. After graduating college, Bill moved to Massachusetts, where a mutual friend introduced him to Carol, his future wife. Bill and Carol were married in 1972, before later settling down in Marlboro, MA and having one son, Jeffrey (Jeff) in 1976. Bill made a career working in IT and project management as it was an emerging industry at the time but always took pride in being a husband and father first, always making sure to be there for family events and in attendance for or coaching Jeff’s basketball games.

Bill could best be described as a “nice guy.” Despite standing nearly seven feet tall, he never once got annoyed at anyone asking him how tall he was, or “how’s the weather up there?” Bill lived his life in a way where he treated everyone with kindness and respect. He was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Some of his favorites included watching tv (including recording virtually every show imaginable on his dvr), playing games, putting together puzzles, spending time with family, enjoying visits from his "grand puppies" (and giving them treats and portions of whatever he was eating), and eating pizza and ice cream (especially chocolate ice cream.) Despite a myriad of health challenges in the later years of his life, Bill never once complained about his circumstances. Instead, he maintained the same “glass half full” attitude that we have all grown accustomed to and remained thankful for what he had. While his physical health may have failed, Bill’s mind and spirit remained strong until the very end.

Bill is survived by Carol, his loving wife of 52 years, his son Jeff, and his daughter-in-law Colleen.
