Wayne attended Centennial High School in Pueblo, CO, where he enjoyed being on the wrestling team. After high school, he graduated with his teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado. After a short stint teaching in Wyoming, he packed up for California to pursue Law at UCLA. Wayne spent his professional years working at Ball Corporation in Broomfield, CO and for Technip in Houston, TX and Claremont, CA where he was the Managing Attorney in Compliance in the Oil and Gas Industry. He and his late wife, Kim, had two children, Jeff and Jessica. Wayne was always the coach of their sports teams and their biggest fans. He spent many weekends watching Jeff play football through College and later when he became a Coach. He got to see Jessica's passion in person, her Horses and English riding. They also shared a passion for law.
Wayne and his Wife Wendy enjoyed over twenty years traveling together, live music, and many moments with friends and family. He was a doting husband and a wonderful Step-Father to Breanna and Lauren. Wayne has always had a way with words and he acted at the officiant in Breanna and Cody's wedding. In the last several years he became "Poppy" to his 4 Grandchildren. He was a play on the floor kind of Grandpa and was always at all of their activities, cheering them on, making them laugh or rocking them to sleep.
Wayne loved Country and Rock Music. Favorites included Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, and Chris Stapleton. He was a passionate Denver sports fan, especially the Denver Broncos. Wayne loved to laugh and to make others laugh. His endless stories about his life experiences would brighten up any room and he wouldn't pass up the opportunity to share them with anyone. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, story- telling, and his ever present smile. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.
