Sherry Mapel Chesmore, 61, of Littleton, Colorado passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 after an extended illness. She was born in Gillette, Wyoming to Terry O’Neil (Payne) and Terry Mapel on Sunday, October 4, 1964.
Sherry was an outstanding athlete, excelling at volleyball and track. She was an exemplary student, graduating high school with a 4.0 grade point average and graduating summa cum laude from the University of Northern Colorado. In her career, Sherry served in multiple high-level leadership roles, including President and CEO of multiple companies. She managed and led a variety of departments to successful outcomes.
Sherry is remembered for business acumen and entrepreneurial skills along with being a good listener who provided guidance and wise counsel to many. She took joy in watching others succeed, playing cribbage and games, and spending time with family.
Loving mother of Amanda (Ash), Laura (Alex), and Dan (Cara), she will be missed by her children, grandchildren Kaylee and Sadie (including an expected arrival in April, 2026), many family members and friends and her faithful, four-footed companion, Flynn.
She is survived by her mom Terry, sister Kerry (Justin), step-mom Judy, her children, and grandchildren.
A memorial will be with immediate family scattering her ashes in her beloved Colorado Rocky Mountains in the summertime.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that any donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
