Sharon Kay Marietta, age 80, of Broomfield, CO, passed away on April 26, 2024.
She was born on October 26, 1943 in Lincoln, NE and adopted by Gilford and Marian (Holland) Davis, at the age of 7 months.
Sharon attended elementary school in Ansley, NE, middle school in Mullen, NE, and high school at Saint Agnes Academy in Alliance, NE.
Sharon worked briefly as a qualified Histologic Technician and was registered as a Medical Technologist of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
On April 11, 1964, she married Jim Marietta of Brush, CO. The couple moved to a farm outside of Longmont, CO where they raised their 2 children. Sharon cared for calves, dogs, cats, horses, ducks, & chickens for over 15 years. Sharon changed careers after her children moved out and worked for the New Super 8 at the Del Camino exit for 12 years.
Sharon and Jim were married for 45 years, before his passing in 2009. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.
In March 2015, Sharon had a stroke and began her journey through various assisted living, rehab, and full-time care facilities until her passing.
Sharon is survived by her children; Stephanie Ann Wyrick, husband B.J., grandchildren, Sabrina and Shane, Hamilton, OH; Jim Marietta II, wife Kari, granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda. Broomfield, CO.
Sharon was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be remembered and missed forever.
A Catholic Memorial Mass for Sharon will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Church on Friday, June 28th, 2024 at 11:00 am. A luncheon will immediately follow Mass at the church.
Sharon’s Committal will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
