Shana Carlsen

On May 25th, 2020 at 11:13 pm in Colorado, Shana Carlsen passed on from this world surrounded and embraced by her loved ones. 

Born on August 10th, 1958 in Napa, California, Shana was the oldest of her siblings.  She met Joseph in 1994 and soon thereafter her beloved daughter Satya was born.

At the time of her passing, Shana was surrounded by her loved ones, including her daughter Satya and now son-in-law Alireza, her sister Jami and brother Ted, along with Satya’s father Joseph and her close supportive friend Rich. Shana’s sister Tamura and dear friend of many years, Krsangi, were with her in the prior days to share and express their heartfelt love.  

Shana was a kind, loving and truly unique person, having spent much of her time focused on how to make the world more sustainable and safe for generations to come.  An inspiration to everyone she came in contact with, she believed in those who struggled to believe in themselves. 

Her passions included a focus on helping children, innovative technologies – and, yes, an outstanding footwear collection which only a truly genuine fashionista could amass! 

Shana’s brilliant, creative mind, operatic voice and wildly hilarious off-colored sense of humor complimented her inner and outer beauty. She found joy with her daughter, in her many close friendships and partnerships, and in her ever-inspirational visions of futuristic, sustainable architecture and community living. 

Know that Shana departed in the same spirit in which she lived her life – as a strong willed fighter. 

With the deepest love and a profound sadness, Satya, Ali and Joseph later convened a beautiful farewell ceremony on the shores of the Poudre River in Colorado for what was her final release.  

From Joseph:  Last text sent to Shana on May 26th – “Satya and I will miss you with all our heart.”

From Satya:  To remember and honor Shana's life and memory, please take a day to wear something with the color fuchsia, which reflects living to your absolute fullest, following your deepest dreams and always dancing your heart out ... just as my mama did.  ❤  ❤ ❤

Thank you for all your love mom. You will always be missed – but never, ever, forgotten.
