Ruth Treier Wayman passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, just hours short of her 95th birthday, with her entire loving family in attendance for most of the day. A loving wife to her husband of 64 years, Cooper, who passed away in 2016, she is survived by her daughter, Carol Beth Withers, of Westminster, Colorado, her grandsons, Nick Withers (Eva Hall), of Englewood, Colorado, Lyle Daschbach, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Cooper Daschbach, of Westminster, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cooper Wayman, and her daughter, Andrea Daschbach (John Daschbach).

Ruth was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Marie and George Treier, and was raised in Sayreville, New Jersey. She went to Rutgers University, where she received her teaching degree. Ruth and Cooper met in college and married in June of 1951, after they both graduated from college. Ruth and Cooper lived in a number of places before moving to Colorado in 1963. She became a full time German teacher at Arvada West High School, and she later taught at Wheat Ridge High School for 20 years, retiring from full time teaching in 1992. She later substituted and volunteered in numerous Colorado schools.  Ruth held over 25 jobs in her life but besides teaching, her favorite job after retiring was as a park ranger volunteer in the Carlsbad Caverns National Park, in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Ruth was an accomplished pianist and played recitals, including where she resided in independent and assisted living in her last years. Another passion she had was running, where she ran many races, including the Bolder Boulder, several times. She continued to run into her 70’s.

Ruth was loved by many, including a wide circle of friends, many students and her family, who loved and adored her, and she will be missed.

No services are currently planned. A memorial celebration of life honoring Ruth will be held later this year. Please share your memories and condolences.
