Surrounded by his family at his side, Rusty Ralph Peterson claimed the promise of his baptism on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, after a long journey with kidney disease.
Born on February 9, 1971, to Robert and Patricia Peterson in Denver, Colorado, Rusty graduated from Thornton High School, continuing his education by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado and a Juris doctorate degree from the University of Denver. He was employed by the law firm of Richards and Simpson for over 20 years, both as an office manager and paralegal.
Rusty loved sports and activities of all kinds – especially golfing and bowling with family and friends. He could be found hiking, kayaking, and skiing anytime he could in the great Colorado outdoors. Whatever it was, he most enjoyed outings with family and friends; be it grabbing a beer or manhattan, meeting for dinners, chilling on the patio, painting art, or playing board and/or trivia games. Rusty was a faithful member of Lutheran Church of Hope in Broomfield, active in both the music ministry and in church leadership, having served as it's 46th President.
Rusty was a loving husband and dedicated father. He was steadfast and kind, always volunteering to coach soccer or plan a date with his wife. He will be dearly missed.
Rusty is survived by his high school sweetheart and bride, Brenda; daughter Megan; son Connor; and sister Tonya. He was preceded in death by both his parents.
