Rosemarie Kulyan

Rosemarie was born on March 6, 1932 to Vera Matyas Willms and Dirk John Willms in Chicago, IL. She was married to Eugene Field Kulyan on December 17, 1949. She died on April 1, 2021 at her home in Westminster, CO.

During her childhood years, Rosemarie was a bright and capable student who skipped 2 grades and graduated from high school at the age of 16. She then attended Northwestern University, and met and married her husband during her second year in college. She graduated with a degree in Education. Nearly 2 decades later, she attended nursing school and received her nursing degree in Ohio.
 
After raising 5 children, Rosemarie began working as a substitute teacher for Boulder Valley School District, and as a private duty nurse for Western Medical. In 1986, she began working for the University of Colorado as the nurse consultant to the Children's Center, and later became a substitute teacher for the Center. She continued to work at the Center until her death.
 
Rosemarie had a keen interest in holistic medicine, including healing touch and energy work, and studied for years under pioneers in the field, including Janet Mentgen.
 
Rosemarie had 5 children: Gene Milan, Dirk David, John Albert, Paul Harvey and Kathleen Lynn (Payne) She was preceded in death by her son Paul in 1985 and her son Dirk in 1991.
 
She is survived by 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 
 
She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family after a short battle with congestive heart failure.
