Bob (aka Mongoose) was a business owner for 44 years, auto-mechanic, pro motorcycle racer (US rep in Enduro-cross), and endurance athlete (multiple-time Leadville 100 finisher as well as numerous other running and biking races since his 40s). He was found most often under the hood of a car or in his barefoot shoes on a trail. He loved talking to people, empathizing, learning about their lives, and giving good banter. He was a passionate advocate for animal rights and overall peace. He pushed himself to his physical and mental limits his entire life, learned something new each day, and was an inspiration in health, fitness, adventure, and wonder. For many of us, he was the most fascinating person we will ever meet. If you ever find yourself lost, tired, or weary, just think: What would Bob do?
Bob is survived by his wife, Lilly, daughter, Zina (Jack), sister, Suzanne (Kent), brother-in-laws Karsten (Joanne) and family, Michael (Karen) and family, and sister-in-law Lorraine and family, and a wild and crazy bunch of friends- too many to name here… but know you were highly regarded, respected, and loved.
A memorial will be planned in Colorado for the Spring/Summer of 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Robert's name to PETA.
