Robert “Buck” Lorenz Obituary

Buck peacefully passed away on January 21, 2025, in Lafayette, Colorado at the age of 45. He was born August 21, 1979, and raised in Fremont, CA. He was a 1997 graduate of Washington High School in Fremont, CA and received his associate’s degree from Mission College in Santa Clara, CA.

He was a dedicated sheet metal worker by trade. Buck was a passionate fan of the Oakland Athletics and the San Francisco 49ers. Buck’s true passion was cooking. He cooked for one or a crowd, Buck’s pride in the kitchen shone through to all who enjoyed the dishes he prepared. He said his proudest accomplishment cooking was getting his notoriously picky nephew to eat something new.

Buck is survived by his mother, Cynthia; his wife, Samantha; and their children, Andrew and Christopher. He is also survived by his brothers, Eric (and wife Megan) and Matthew (and wife Melissa); his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Rhonda; his brother-in-law, Luke (and wife Summer); his sister-in-law, Taryn (and husband Jeff); and his two nieces and five nephews.

Buck was predeceased by his father, Eric Sr., and brother, Paul.

There will be no formal memorial service. Buck will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be to a charity of your choice in Buck’s memory.
