Richard Edward LeMieux ll, 52, of Erie, Colorado, passed away on January 29, 2026.
Rick was born on July 8, 1973, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a man defined by discipline, intelligence, leadership, and deep devotion to his family. He graduated at the top of his high school class and was a standout athlete, serving as captain of his wrestling team all four years. His work ethic and determination were evident early in life and remained a defining part of who he was.
Rick proudly served his country as an Electrician’s Mate Second Class (EM2) in the United States Navy Submarine Force for six years. He completed his final service assignment aboard the USS Michigan and spent four of his six years of active duty deployed at sea. Submarine service demands exceptional resilience, precision, and trust in others—qualities Rick carried with him throughout his life.
Rick also brought endless laughter to his family with his mischievous sense of humor, delighting in practical jokes like strategically hiding plastic roaches, spiders, and other creepy critters around the house—always in just the right spot to elicit the biggest startled reactions and shared giggles
His military honors include the Enlisted Submarine Warfare Insignia, National Defense Service Medal, SSBN Deterrent Patrol Pin (5 patrols), Navy “E” Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Expeditionary Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Following his military service, Rick fast-tracked his education in Electrical Engineering, launching a distinguished career in complex industrial construction. He played key roles in building large-scale industrial plants across multiple critical industries, including food and beverage, manufacturing, healthcare facilities, hospitals, and later high-security data centers. Rick earned a reputation for his technical expertise, leadership, and ability to manage highly complex and mission-critical projects.
Above all else, Rick was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife Kim Lemieux and his cherished sons, Matthew and Marshall, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his brothers, John LeMieux and his wife Kimberly, and Tom Lemieux and his wife Ellen; his father, Richard LeMieux and his wife Cheryl; his mother, Judy Rinehart and her husband Tom Rinehart; six nieces and nephews; his Brother in Law Mike McGrew, and many cousins and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Rick will be remembered for his strength, integrity, quiet determination, and the high standards he set for himself and those around him.
He was the one who always called just to hear our voices. We’ll miss those calls forever.
