Phyllis Ann Scharlemann (nee Wiebusch), 87, claimed the promise of her baptism on March 7, 2024 in Lafayette, Colorado after a journey with COPD, cancer, and pneumonia. Phyllis was born on January 4, 1937 to Harlem Wiebusch and Lorena (Allers) Wiebusch in Lake City, Minnesota. She had two siblings: Ralph Wiebusch and Janice Mumford. Phyllis married Floyd Scharlemann on May 5, 1956 in Lake City, Minnesota. The couple later had four children: Brad, Bard, Bryce, and Michelle. Brad, now deceased, married Deanna. Bard married Linda, and Bryce married Debora.
Phyllis graduated from high school in 1954, and worked for Ranch Manor Restaurant, Denver Public Schools, and Safeway. She retired in 1988. Phyllis loved sewing, crafting, completing puzzles, and playing cards and games. She was a loving daughter, a loyal sister, a dedicated wife, an attentive mother, and a great friend! She will be dearly missed!
Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, Harlem and Lorena Wiebusch and her son, Brad Scharlemann. She is survived by her husband, Floyd; her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Mariann Wiebusch; her sister, Janice Mumford; her son and daughter-in-law, Bard and Linda Scharlemann; her son and daughter-in-law, Bryce and Debora Scharlemann, her daughter, Michelle Scharlemann, twelve grandchildren: Jennifer Ingram, Lisa Valenzuela, Sarah Scharlemann, Bard Scharlemann Jr., Heather Carr, Kelly Zoetewey, Justin Scharlemann, Kate Madigan, Joe Kelliher, Ryan Scharlemann, Sean Kelliher, and Madison Lee; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A Liturgy of Resurrection will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. along with inurnment and the committal rite in the Lutheran Church of Hope Columbarium. A reception will follow the liturgy. Blessed be the Memory of Phyllis Ann Scharlemann.
