Phillip Farley Obituary

Phillip Byron Farley claimed the promise of his baptism entering eternal life on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in Broomfield, Colorado. Born on July 12, 1939 in Wolf Creek, West Virginia, Phillip was the son of Dalmane and Alma Farley. He graduated from Spanishburg High School in Spanishburg, West Virginia and attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Phil became a Chinese linguist and served in Texas, Washington, D.C., South Korea, Japan, Nevada, and finally Nebraska.

He married Maxine Thies on December 22, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran in Winside, Nebraska. They moved to Clinton, Iowa in 1964 where Phil worked for the A.C. Nielson, Company as a programmer and subsequently as a Data Processing Manager. After 24 years in Clinton, they moved to Broomfield in 1987 where Phil worked for Bestop, Inc., retiring in 2007.

Phil is survived by his beloved bride Maxine, daughter Jenine (Jay) and grandson Alexander; and a son Mikel along with his sister Teresa Sharp, a brother-in-law, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Liturgy of Resurrection for Phillip will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11:00am at Lutheran Church of Hope, with inurnment in the Lutheran Church of Hope Columbarium. The liturgy will be webcasted live and archived for later viewings at www.lchope.org/watch. Part of Phil’s cremains will also be inurned near a family plot in West Virginia.
