Patricia Ann Duncan Obituary

Patricia Ann Duncan (Williams), previously known as Patricia Ann Van Pelt, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on December 14, 1940, in Denver, Colorado, Patricia carried her warmth and vibrant spirit everywhere she lived. She spent many cherished years in Lafayette, Louisiana, a place she deeply loved and proudly called home before returning to Colorado. In her final two years, she found tremendous joy in Lafayette, Colorado, where she built many meaningful friendships and embraced community life fully.

Patricia was an extraordinarily social woman who deeply valued her family and friends. She had a rare gift for listening. She was empathetic, kind, and genuinely grateful for the people in her life. If you spoke, she truly heard you. If something mattered to you, it mattered to her. She remembered birthdays, milestones, and special events with remarkable detail, always reaching out to celebrate or simply check in. More than anything, she wanted everyone to know how sincerely she cared about how they were doing.

She absolutely loved knitting, a passion that became even more special during her later years. She looked forward to weekly knitting nights with her "Sew & Sew" group where conversation, laughter, and creativity were shared in equal measure. Pat knitted countless baby blankets to donate to hospitals for families welcoming newborns. She also lovingly made blankets as gifts for friends and family expecting babies. She found deep joy in giving. Her generosity was endless, and she delighted in offering something made by hand and filled with care.

She is survived by her two daughters, Amy Beth Terch and Cindy Pershin; her son, Jeffery Van Pelt; and her cherished grandchildren, Christine, Brad, Annie, Jenna, Kamryn & Ethan and her two great grandsons, Tucker & Hank. Her family was her greatest pride and joy.

Patricia will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We are profoundly grateful for the love, compassion, and steady presence she brought into our lives. Her impact will continue to be felt in the countless conversations she shared, the encouragement she gave, the gifts she lovingly created, and the unwavering care she showed to those around her.

Her legacy is simple and beautiful: love your people well, remember what matters, give generously, and always ask how someone is truly doing.

Per her wishes, services were made private and she will be laid to rest with her family in Chadron, Nebraska.
