It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Bianchi. Pat passed away peacefully at home on June 29, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. She embraced life with joy, enthusiasm, and gratitude, and she cherished the people who filled it. Even throughout her cancer treatments, Pat continued to live each day to the fullest, inspiring those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering love for life.

Pat was born in Linesville, Pennsylvania, in 1948 to Howard and Jean Headley. She grew up in a close-knit rural community, surrounded by lifelong friends, cherished cousins, aunts and uncles, and an ever-changing collection of beloved pets, including cats and dogs, a pony, a horse, and even a skunk. Her love of animals remained a defining part of who she was throughout her life. She adored her cats, lovingly caring for several that lived well into their twenties!

Pat moved to Denver in 1971 and began working at a bank where she met Rudolph Bianchi. They were married in October 1973 and built a family together. Pat warmly welcomed Rudy's son, Dominic (Ashley), and together they expanded their family with the births of Jacquie (Dan Waldrip), Greg (Melissa Andrews), and Andrea (Josh Lopez). She has 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. After their first meeting in a bank, they both went on to have successful careers in banking, and after 47 years of marriage, Rudy preceded her in death in September 2020.

Pat’s professional life reflected the same determination and resilience that defined every part of who she was. She began her banking career as a proof operator, where she met Rudy, and through hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to learning, she built an extraordinary career. She eventually became one of Colorado’s most successful SBA bankers, helping hundreds of small business owners pursue their dreams by securing the financing they needed to grow. Like everything else in her life, her success was earned through humility, determination, and an unwavering work ethic.

Pat was always caring for others. Sick grandchildren often found refuge at Grandma's house, where she always had their favorite comforts waiting—mango juice, Blue Bell ice cream cups, and jello with mandarin oranges. Her home was always open to out-of-town family and friends, who could count on casual dinners spent together on her deck. She loved sharing Colorado with those who visited, whether she was teaching them to ski, taking them hiking in the Flatirons, or simply helping them discover the beauty and charm of the place she loved so much.

Although her home in Louisville was her favorite place in the world, Pat loved to travel and always had her next adventure planned. When her children were young, she loaded them into the car for countless road trips-visiting Rudy's family in Iowa every few months and making the annual summer pilgrimage to Pennsylvania to spend time with her side of the family. As the years passed, her travels took her much farther from home, exploring Europe, Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. She thoroughly enjoyed experiencing new cultures and places and remained a lifelong learner, even taking Spanish classes in her sixties and seventies.

Whether traveling with Rudy, friends, or extended family, Pat embraced every opportunity to explore new places. One of her greatest joys, however, was sharing those experiences with the people she loved most. She generously treated her children and grandchildren to vacations in Akumal, Mexico, Europe, and on family cruises, creating cherished memories that will be treasured.

Pat was an avid runner for most of her adult life; she completed the Bolder Boulder for 20 consecutive years before setting her sights on Colorado's mountain half marathons, including the Georgetown Half Marathon and the Slacker Half Marathon. In her fifties, she trained for and ran several marathons alongside two of her closest friends. Among her favorites were the Chicago and New York City Marathons. Her commitment to fitness inspired those around her. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to live active, healthy lives and was their biggest fan, proudly cheering them on at races, games, meets, recitals, and other activities.

More important to Pat than any of her many hobbies or her successful career were the relationships she built with her family and friends. It is difficult to put into words the remarkable gift she had for making each child, grandchild, family member, and friend feel uniquely loved and valued. She was always up for a phone call, watching a Nuggets or Broncos game, a late-night Target or TJ Maxx run, or binge-watching her favorite shows-especially comedies or anything involving a little revenge. Whether they lived just minutes away or thousands of miles from her home, she was a constant, everyday presence in the lives of the people she loved. Her greatest legacy will be the countless memories she created and the love she shared with those who knew her.

Pat's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff at the Cancer Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. Their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion brought comfort to Pat and her family throughout a difficult time.
