Nicholas B. Gray Obituary

Nicholas Brian Gray, Age 4, passed away on May 30th, 2025, after a tragic accident helping his dad do chores at his home in Dacono, CO. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 19th, at 10:00 am at Rocky Mountain Christian Church in Frederick, CO with a reception to follow with activities for kids.

Nicholas Brian Gray was born on June 22nd, 2020, and was the first child to Jason and Amy Gray. He was loved so fully and beautifully by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his little brother Jackson.

Nicholas lived every boy’s dream where his laughter filled the open acres of his home, sports fields, basketball courts, splash pads, parks, pavilions, museums, churches, and everywhere he went. He loved being a fiercely loyal farmhand, helping mom and dad as much and as often as possible. He was very expressive. The slightest curve of his smile would reveal if he was feeling curious or (very often) mischievous.

Nicholas had a spirituality beyond his years. He took his Sunday School lessons to heart. He was so eager to lead others in prayer. Across a big library of colorful books, Nicholas’ favorite stories were Bible stories. He would often surprise his mother with how he was not one to shy away from the grittier details of some of those stories.

He will be warmly welcomed into heaven by his grandparents, Carol and Brian Jordan (Longmont, CO).

Nicholas is survived by his loving parents, Jason and Amy Gray (Dacono, CO), little brother Jackson, Grandparents Gordon and Leah Gray (Thornton, CO), Great Grandparents Paul and Marylen LaDuke (Westminster, CO), Uncle Ryan (Kagney) Gray, (Northglenn, CO) Uncle Joshua (Shalene) Miller (Bentonville, AK), Uncle Alan Jordan, Uncle Eddy Jordan (Denver, CO), and many others.

In these unimaginably difficult times, we ask just a few things from you, our community:

We ask that you join us as we carry Nicholas in our hearts by being a joyful and helpful spirit to others. We ask that as our family fights to understand, help us to remember that it is exactly in the valley of death where our Savior promises to meet us, and help us find solace by sharing memories of how young Nicholas touched your lives. We ask that love be returned in kind. Just like the love his family poured into him, and the perfect love Nicholas gave back in return; we ask that through this time and continuing in days, months, and years to come that you, our friends and family, support each other, and especially Amy and Jason, with that exact same love.

We ask that when you love, you love as Nicholas did, easily, fully, without question.

A line from one of his favorite books:
“We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it, we have to go through it” - We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. - Helen Oxenbury

One last line from his most favorite book:
“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later.” Romans 8:18
