Natalie Meyer, former Secretary of State of Colorado, passed away at 91 on September 23, 2021. Natalie was born in Henderson, NC in 1930 and was raised in Iowa. She settled in Littleton, CO with her husband Harold Meyer, where they raised their family.
Natalie graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and taught high school business classes at Bear Valley. While raising her three daughters and supporting their many activities, she became active in politics, starting as a block worker, becoming a campaign manager for numerous local and national candidates and finally serving as Secretary of State from 1983-1995.
She was also active in her church and community. She loved to entertain, and was a gracious host. She enjoyed golf, bowling and was an avid bridge player.
Natalie was filled with faith, grace, humility and strength, and she left the world better than she found it. She will be missed immensely and was loved and admired by so many, living in our hearts forever.
Natalie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold Meyer. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Mary Strickler (Jeff), Rebecca Brown, and Amy Meyer. Four grandchildren; Brad and Michelle (Scott Kueny) Strickler and Ellie and Austin Brown, and one great grandson, Charlie Kueny.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 on October 18, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood.
