Michael “Mike” Scott Hausman
Michael “Mike” Scott Hausman, 65, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away at his home on September 20, 2025, with his brothers at his side.
Mike was born on April 21, 1960, in Rapid City, South Dakota. His family moved to Denver when he was one year old. He was the son of the late Royce and Jeanne (Sonnichsen) Hausman.
Mike graduated with honors from Adams State College with a double major in trombone and piano. He worked as a dedicated letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
Although Mike never married or had children, he was a devoted and loving uncle to 16 nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
Faith and music were central to Mike’s life. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church’s bell choir, the Carillons, as well as the Smithtonians Handbell Ensemble.
Beyond music, he poured his creativity into stained glass, crafting everything from delicate ornaments to intricate lamps. He also had a passion for gardening and took pride in cultivating roses, lilies, and a variety of trees and shrubs in his yard.
Mike is survived by his brothers Kevin (Leslie) Hausman of Scotia, Nebraska; Mark (Tammy) Hausman of Saint Cloud, Florida; and Tim (Nancy) Hausman of Katy, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 25, at 4:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 E. Hampden Ave., Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113. A simple reception will follow.
