Maureen Rosen, a thirteen-year resident of Boulder, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 82.

Maureen is survived by her daughter Renee Israel and son-in-law Rob Israel, and their children Mason, Caden, and Kyla; and by her daughter Heather Tramaglini and her children Nicholas and Alexis.

Born and raised near Falkirk, Scotland, Maureen moved to the United States at the age of 21, where she built her life and family in Freehold, New Jersey, with her former husband, Louis Rosen. She traveled to many cities and countries during these years, but loved life most at the Jersey Shore, especially her time in Bradley Beach.

Caring for others was a constant in Maureen’s life. She came to the United States as an au pair, a role that prepared her for a lifetime of nurturing—from caring for her family, to lovingly supporting her grandchildren, to serving seniors in her Freehold community.

Ready for a new adventure, Maureen came to Boulder in 2012 to be closer to Renee and her family. Though she missed the ocean, she renewed her love for the “hills” of her beloved Scotland through the sweeping Front Range views.

In Boulder, Maureen could often be found tending her garden, feeding hummingbirds, or walking her dog, Brownie. For those who knew her well, she will be remembered for her unwavering family support, dry wit, quiet strength, tasty shortbread, and love of Sunday football—Go Giants!

A private celebration of Maureen’s life will be held in early summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
