It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Daniel Martinez, age 36, of Thornton, Colorado, who passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Mark was born on January 4, 1990, in Denver, Colorado, to David and Clarissa Martinez. He grew up surrounded by family as the youngest of four children alongside his siblings Angela, Matthew, and Michael.

Above all else, Mark was a devoted father. The greatest joy and purpose of his life were his two beautiful daughters, Emilia and Alina, who meant everything to him. He is also survived by his spouse Alejandra and his beloved dog, Pinto Bean, who was never far from his side.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Mark understood that kindness came naturally to him. He was the type of person who would quietly lend a hand before anyone had the chance to ask. Whether helping a neighbor, a coworker, a friend, or even someone he had just met, Mark left people better than he found them. His generosity, infectious smile, and genuine desire to help others became hallmarks of his life and are qualities that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Mark possessed an extraordinary curiosity and a remarkable work ethic. From an early age, he distinguished himself through academic achievement and leadership. As a middle school student, he earned national recognition through a program affiliated with MIT and was later selected to participate in a national youth leadership program in Washington, D.C., where he was elected by his peers to serve as the mock President.

His lifelong passion for aviation led him to Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he joined the university's Flight Team. During his time there, the team earned the prestigious Loening Trophy, one of collegiate aviation's highest honors, marking a historic achievement for the university.

Mark turned that passion into a successful career with OneFlight International, where he spent more than a decade helping build the company into a respected leader in private aviation. His dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence earned him the admiration of both his colleagues and clients. He was honored as Employee of the Year, a reflection of the same work ethic and servant's heart that defined every aspect of his life.

Those closest to Mark knew him as a walking encyclopedia of aviation, someone who could identify almost any aircraft overhead with ease and enthusiasm. He loved sharing what he knew, often with a playful grin and a good-natured sense of humor that made learning from him a joy.

More than his accomplishments, Mark will be remembered for the way he made people feel. He brought laughter into every room, met life with curiosity, and never hesitated to help someone in need. His compassion, humility, and unwavering generosity created countless moments of kindness that will continue to live on through the people whose lives he touched.

Mark is survived by his spouse Alejandra, his daughters, Emilia and Alina; his parents, David and Clarissa Martinez; his siblings, Angela and spouse Jamarques, Matthew and spouse Ann-Marie, and Michael; his beloved dog, Pinto Bean; his nieces Cienna, Ayanna, Skyla, his nephew Rhodes and a large extended family and countless friends who loved him deeply.

His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his legacy of kindness, service, laughter, and love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
