Mark Hetzel Obituary

Mark Joseph Hetzel, 58, long time Colorado resident, beloved son of the late Marvin E. and the late Josephine A. nee Spero; loving brother of Deacon Martin M. (Valerie nee Van Denburgh), Dr. Marilyn A. Hetzel (James Schulz), Marvin J. (Judy nee Tholen) Michael L. (Joyce nee Wolf), Mary A. (Debbie Edeus); loving nephew of June Triner; and devoted guardian for over 15 years of Ricky (Rico), his beloved dog.   As an uncle, cousin, and friend of many, he enjoyed family and friends gatherings.  Mark was kind and affable.  He will be missed.

Mark was an accomplished rifle competitor throughout his teens; he was a member of a Rifle Club Junior High Power Rifle Team that set several National Records, and as an individual he won the Golden Eagle Trophy for highest junior competitor score at the 1980 National Championships; he ultimately earned the Distinguished Rifleman Badge.  Mark was also a Tennessee Squire, climber of Fourteeners, an accomplished accordion player, and an Extra Class licensed amateur radio operator.
