Mark Lawrence Ballentine Obituary

Mark Ballentine entered Heavens eternal glory on May 19th 2025.
Mark was born on November 10th 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Quentin and Betty (Curry) Ballentine.

His family moved to Leadville Colorado in 1955, bought and ran a motel/restaurant servicing the soldiers at Camp Hale. He loved his new home where he spent his days riding horses, fishing and selling worms. He graduated from Lake County high school in 1969.

In 1976, Mark married his loving wife, Donna Ossman. He dedicated 30 years of his life as a U.S. Postal Worker in Leadville, Brighton, and Westminster. A devoted father who dedicated much of his time to his children’s sports and activities. He loved playing his guitar and later wrote many songs, securing two song contracts in Nashville. Mark had quick wit and found humor in the most unexpected moments.

He was affectionately named "Pockee" by his grandson, Caleb. He was never Grandpa always Pockee to his grandkids, a nickname which quickly spread throughout the family and became a term of endearment for everyone who knew him.

Most importantly, known for his courage, boldness and unwavering faith, Mark seized every opportunity to share the gospel of the grace of God and wanted everyone to embrace the free gift of salvation unto eternal life. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Mark is survived by his loving wife Donna, his sons Beau (Amberly), Lance (Adrianne), daughter Larkyn, his grandchildren, Caleb, Blake, Luke, Cole, Javier, Jacob, Jobe, Yael, Uriah and great grandchild Xylan.
Brother Barry(Jeanne) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Quentin and Betty Ballentine and brother Rob Ballentine.

Though he will greatly be missed, we are so very happy for him and look forward to our reunion in heaven.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 13th, at 6:00 pm at Agape Kingdom Fellowship Church 4085 Independence Court Wheat Ridge CO 80033
