Margaret Ramona Vialpando – beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her large family who released her to her heavenly home on March 31, 2025 at the age of 77.
Margaret was born to Manuel and Cora Baltierras on November 30, 1947 and was the eldest of 7 children. She was a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Colorado and attended and graduated from Lafayette High School. Margaret wed Sammy Vialpando on January 26th,1979, and together, Margaret and Sammy had 2 children, Shae and Sam.
Margaret was known for her servant spirit, welcoming manner and sassy personality. Her joy included spending time with her children and grandchildren, watching sports and traveling “to the hills” with her sisters. She was always known for being a kind host to visitors and whipping up tortillas on demand for her family. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends to visit and reminisce of times past. Her distinctive laugh was one of many cherished attributes her family will always remember about her.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Shae, son, Sam (Amy), as well as grandchildren Audrianna, Maurissa, Danielle, Aaron, Jonah and Joshua, and great-grandchildren Elijah and Bradyn. She is also survived by her sisters Tillie Archuleta, Peggy Chavez, Cindy Blea and Louise Espinosa, as well as her brothers Manuel Jr. (Tito) and Steve Baltierras, along with their spouses and countless nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service for Margaret is scheduled for:
Friday, May 9th, 2025 at 11:00am
