It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, companion, and friend, Margaret Anderson, who left this world on October 21, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado, at the age of 74. Born on August 3, 1950, in Port Arthur, Texas, she touched the lives of everyone around her with her kindness, vibrant spirit, and unwavering devotion.
Margaret was preceded in death by her cherished son, Bryan Lee Anderson, who left us far too soon at the age of 16. She is survived by her loving daughter, Shannon Lynn Anderson, who will carry forward her mother’s legacy of love and resilience.
A proud graduate of Lutcher Stark High School, Margaret dedicated her professional life to the Defense Financing and Accounting Services, where she served from 1984 until her retirement in 2015. As a devoted supervisor and an exceptional coworker, she rose to the position of GS-501-13, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues through her passion and commitment.
An ardent Republican patriot, Margaret was known for her fierce opinions and her willingness to stand up for what she believed in. She embraced life with enthusiasm, cherishing the simple joys of exercising, hiking, walking, going up the hill, and her love for tattoos. Her two beloved fur babies, Sienna and Chelsea, brought her immense joy, and their memories will forever hold a special place in her heart.
Her absence has created an unimaginable void in the lives of her family and friends. Those who knew her will remember her for her warmth, her caring nature, and the light she brought into every room. Margaret was a grateful recipient of a bilateral lung transplant, which allowed her to maintain her active lifestyle and enjoy life to the fullest.
As we mourn her passing, we are comforted by the memories of her unwavering love and support. Shannon expresses, “I could not have asked for a better mother, and I miss her every day.”
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to Donate Life America, a cause that honors her commitment to life and generosity.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and love in her memory. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
