Marcia Lynne (Perry) Grennan the daughter of Arnold and Ruth Perry, was born on February 4, 1946, in Concordia, Kansas. She was 78 years old when she passed away on September 22, 2024, in Broomfield, Colorado. Marcia had three siblings, Diane, Robert and Anne Perry.

Marcia grew up and attended school in Scandia, Kansas, graduating from Scandia High School. She became an LPN in 1979 after graduating from North Central Kansas Technical College. She married, had two sons, David and Matthew. She later divorced. Marcia worked as an LPN at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Concordia, Kansas. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ft Hays State University in 1994.

She moved to Colorado after earning her bachelor’s degree. For the last thirty years, Marcia has worked as a nanny and caregiver for two different families, the Wolfes and the Rodrigues. The most recent family was that of Alex and Malani Rodrigue. They were a very important part of her life, and Marcia loved them dearly.

Marcia spent her final years at Adara Living in Broomfield. She will be missed by her best friend and roommate, Tamela. The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Adara Living and  Denver Hospice for the amazing care and love that Marcia received during her stay.

Marcia enjoyed listening to classical music, going to the opera, reading, history, cooking, and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was very witty with a great sense of humor. She was a loyal and loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many.

Marcia is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Ruth (Ahrens) Perry; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and John Hanson; her daughter-in-law Amy Grennan (wife of David Grennan).

She is survived by her two sons, David Grennan of Concordia, KS; Matthew (Jennifer) Grennan, of  Broomfield, CO. Marcia is also survived by her three grandchildren, Zachary (Kyra) Grennan of Frederick, CO; Isaac (Allison) Grennan of  Westminster, CO; Hannah Grennan of Fort Collins, CO; her brother, Robert (Trudy) Perry of Berthoud, CO; her sister, Anne (Brian) Grace of Lincoln, KS; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The Liturgy of Resurrection for Marcia will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope in Broomfield, CO, on Tuesday,  October 1, 2024, at 3:30 pm.  It can be viewed live at www.lchope.org/watch or watched at a later time.  A reception will follow at the church after the service.

The interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Scandia, KS, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1 pm. A reception will follow at Amana Lutheran Church in Scandia, KS.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Lutheran Church of Hope and to Denver Hospice in Marcia’s memory are welcome.
