Louis M. Figueroa Obituary

On July 17, 1972, Louis Figueroa entered the world—and from the very beginning, he made sure life knew he was here. Born to Luis Figueroa and Pilar Maldonado, Louis didn’t just live his life—he treated it like a full-time job, one he gave everything to, with heart, humor, and grit.

As a baby, he took his first assignment seriously: filling diapers like a champ. But he didn’t stop there. Before long, he was promoted to Big Brother with the arrival of Christian Figueroa, launching a lifelong (and often hilarious) competition between the two.

School wasn’t always where Louis felt most at home. After one call home from a teacher about being a distraction, his father sent him to the corner with a box of gum and a challenge: “Don’t come home until you sell every pack.” Louis took the lesson to heart—and back to school—realizing that drive and determination were his real calling cards.

At 13, Louis faced one of his first big battles: open-heart surgery during the 1986 World Cup. Even then, his strength and resilience showed up in full force.

As a young man, Louis met Valeria Zanetti—without knowing just how much his life was about to change. After three years of dating, they married on December 4, 1993 and built a family full of love and laughter. Their first son, Luis Armando Figueroa IV, was born on October 22, 1994, followed by Dante Nicolas Figueroa on August 29, 2001. Fatherhood became Louis’s greatest pride and deepest joy.

In his professional life, Louis found his stride in HVAC, first at Robinson Mechanical, Encompass and MTech Mechanical, where he spent over two decades building a career defined by loyalty, leadership, and hard work. He never hesitated to do what it took to provide for those he loved—and to lend a hand to anyone in need.

In 2016, Louis underwent a second heart surgery. He bounced back quickly, driven by the people he loved and the adventures still waiting for him.

Though life led him and Valeria down separate paths, time would eventually bring them back into each other's lives, in a new chapter filled with understanding and connection.

One of the brightest lights in his life arrived in 2019: his grandson, Sebastian Lee Figueroa. Louis embraced being a grandfather with everything he had. Whether it was spontaneous trips to the hot springs, outings to the rec center, or simple moments full of laughter, he made sure Sebastian always felt cherished.

In 2021, Louis married Lilly and embraced her family as his own, sharing joyful times with her and her son, Juan Diego. Their years together brought happiness and new memories he held close.

By 2024, Louis’s heart—both literal and figurative—was still going strong. That year, in a gesture that perfectly captured who he was, he gifted his son, Luis Figueroa, and daughter-in-law, Bailee Figueroa, a trip to the Dominican Republic. It wasn’t just a vacation; it was Louis’s way of showing love—big, bold, and generous. He believed in giving experiences, in celebrating life, and in creating memories that would last forever.

On June 2, 2025, Louis went to work like he had so many times before. That day, he fought his final battle—and gave it everything he had, just like he always did.

Louis Figueroa was more than a father, son, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend. He was a force of life. He poured himself into every role he played—with a fierce work ethic, a generous heart, and a laugh that could light up a room.

If he could say something to us now, it would probably be something like this:

“Don’t cry because I’m gone. Smile because I lived. Okay, cry a little—but then dance a little, too. I know I am—probably in my birthday suit.”

His legacy lives on in the people he loved, the lives he touched, and the joy he brought wherever he went. He will be missed more than words can say—and remembered with love, always.
