Linda Stocker left her earthly body on September 12, 2025, at the age of 79. Linda was born in Liverpool, England to James and Margaret (Peggy) Chancellor. She was the eldest child of four born through this union. Linda was any Army child, so she attended school in England, France, and in Missouri, USA. The family moved to Fort Carson Army base in Colorado Springs in . She graduated from Merritt Hutton high school and went on to College in Sterling for a short time.
In 1966, Linda went back to England to visit her aunt and uncle and met the love of her life, Alan Stocker. They were married on August 5, 1967. They had a baby girl, Heather, and then decided to return to Colorado, where they had a baby boy, Robert (Robb). These children were her world. Linda worked all her life while also being an incredible wife and mother. She retired from Safeway, a manager in their seafood department, after working for them for 20 years. She volunteered as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for several years to help families and their children in the foster care system.
Linda was the most kind and loving person anyone could meet. She never met a stranger. She loved going to church and learning as much as she could about her faith. She would give her pastor Matt a run for his money with her questions. She was devoted to God and lived her life reflecting that love to others. She had a connection with her church family and enjoyed serving them as an Elder. Linda absolutely loved her time with her friends. She would cherish the friendship and lunches she had with “the lunch ladies” every Thursday.
Linda’s love and devotion to her family was always apparent. She put her family above herself and would do anything for them. Her husband was her rock and partner. She stood by his side and grew in life with him. Her children never went without. She was at every practice, every game, every performance, and anything that they became involved in or tried. Linda’s grandchildren and great grandson were her pride and joy. There was never a conversation that she had where they did not come up, and her siblings and in-laws, no matter how far away, were always close to her heart.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, James Chancellor, her mother, Margaret (Peggy) Chancellor, her precious nana, Ethel Davison, her uncle George Stocker, and her aunt Dorothy (Dolly) Stocker, her half-brother James (Jimmy) Chancellor, and her half-brother Steven Chancellor.
