Linda Jo Allingham Obituary
The world became a little brighter on May 11, 1951, the day Linda Jo Greene was born — and it dimmed on June 16, 2026, when she left us after a life defined by love, resilience, and quiet brilliance.
Linda was the kind of person who made others feel at home simply by being herself. She had a gift for offering comfort without fanfare, for listening without judgment, and for finding small, steady ways to lift the people around her. Her warmth was not loud or showy; it was the kind that settled into a room and made everyone breathe a little easier.
She found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. Linda loved to cook, and her kitchen was often the heart of any gathering — a place where recipes were shared, stories were told, and everyone left feeling nourished in more ways than one. She cherished her trips to Monterey, California with her husband, Dale, where the ocean air, quiet mornings, and familiar coastline brought her peace and happiness. And some of her favorite moments were the ones spent sitting with friends and family, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. Those unhurried hours — full of warmth, connection, and easy joy — were where she shined brightest.
Her greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into every role she held — devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, steadfast sister and adoring grandmother. She approached each day with a gentle strength that taught those around her how to be patient, how to be brave, and how to love without conditions.
Linda is survived by her husband, William Dale Allingham; her son, William Christopher Allingham; her mother, Bonnie Marie Greene; her sisters, Pady Greene and Sandra Owens; her grandchildren Samantha, Connor and Tori; and her dog Max, grand-dog Luna and grand-cat Bellatrix. Each of them carries her memory forward in the lessons she taught, the kindness she modeled, and the love she gave so freely.
Though we will miss her deeply, we are profoundly grateful for the years we shared with her and for the legacy of compassion she leaves behind.
