Our baptized sister in Christ, former staff member, and long-time member of LCHope, Lina Nadia Stepova claimed the promise of her baptism in the last week likely by a cardiac event and was found earlier today in her apartment by LCHope members Jim and Wanda Hidy.
Another incredible sign of the caring that takes place in this commnity, the Hidy's had not heard from Lina in some time so decided to go over and check in on her well-being.
Shortly after Lina being found, Pastor Scott gathered with Jim, Wanda, and Randy Hidy, as well as Lina's children Pauline and Tony for prayer and conversation.
Lina served on staff at LCHope for several years as the Nursery Attendent, always caring for the young people of LCHope. A native German, she had a love and a passion for one of her ancestral countries, The Ukraine. Lina was retired from AT&T as a Performance Analyst.
The Valley of Hope Spire is tolling 76 times as this e-Anchor is sent announcing Lina's death to the community.
We surround Lina's son Tony and daughter Pauline and family as they grieve this sudden unexpected death. In moments like these we remember Paul's words to the Thessalonians, "We do not want you to be uninformed about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him, all those who have died." -1st Thessalonians 4:13-14
Lina now rests in that promise, the promise of her baptism in God's arms of love and grace until that day when the trumpet shall sound.
PScott will gather with family and any liturgies or gatherings for remembering and giving thanks to God for Lina will be announced through the e-Anchor.
We give thanks to God for the gift Lina was to us.
Blessed be the Memory of Lina Nadia Stepova.
