Lawrence (Larry) Frederick Lynch, age 80, passed away in Layayette, Colorado on Monday, November 28th, 2022.

Born in Washington, D.C., on February 24, 1942, the son of Granville William Lynch, Jr. and Hildur Lucille Lynch (Carlson), Larry spent most of his youth in Orlando, Florida. After graduating from Edgewater High in Orlando in 1960, where he played J.V. and Varsity baseball, he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Larry lived in Florida, Texas, Colorado, and Taiwan and worked as a Chemical Engineer for Dow Chemical and for multiple pharmaceutical companies until retiring in 1995. He then formed his own engineering company, and worked as a consultant on numerous projects. He loved the outdoors and spent much time over the years skiing, hiking, cycling, running, and camping with family and friends, including climbing all of the Colorado 14ers with his best friend and neighbor, and bicycling the “Ride the Rockies” with his son and daughter. He was also a capable bowler and bridge player.

After retirement, Larry called Florida and Colorado his homes while continuing to enjoy his passion for outdoor activities (cycling, running, golf, and fishing) and spending time with his son, daughter, their spouses, and grandchildren. He was known as a very generous and friendly soul who always had time to chat with a neighbor, help family with projects as a skillful “handyman”, or sit down to play and craft with his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Lindy Catherine Winkelbauer (Brian); son Ryan Lawrence Lynch (Cary); former spouse and mother of Lindy and Ryan, Anita “Nita” Ellenback Lynch; sister, Linda Wilson; and five wonderful grandchildren, Brayden, Emma, Garrett, Tessa, and Celia.
