Kevin Dwayne Skattum died on October 18, 2025, at 3:30 a.m., at his home of 30 years in Broomfield, Colorado. He was surrounded by his loving family after a seven-year battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Kimberle (Malone) Skattum; children Krista Glodt (Jarrod), Kaitlin Greenemeier (Zachary), Kory Skattum (Victoria), Kyle Skattum (Katelin), Kollin Skattum (Sadie) and Kara Skattum (Jack); 10 grandchildren; brother Kim Skattum (Sheryl) and sister Karla Tillapaugh (Todd).
Kevin was born in Luverne, Minnesota on August 22, 1959, to Orville and Jeannette Skattum. Kevin spent his childhood in California and Wyoming before he eventually settled in Colorado. He graduated from Northglenn High School and attended Rockmont Christian College, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. He worked in Christian radio for over a decade, served as the media director for Promise Keepers for five years, and then established his own communication company, The LightGroup, in 1998. He was passionate about communicating the love of Jesus to others and helping people tell their stories. He was deeply involved in his community and church.
Kevin met Kimberle in 1985 on their way to a missions conference in Chicago. They quickly fell in love and were married eight months later on August 2, 1985. They made their home in Broomfield, where they raised their six children.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father and mother, his niece, Ashley, her husband, Josh and their baby, Jack. A man who lived with purpose, loved with grace and led with conviction. Kevin will be deeply missed and forever greatly loved.
