Karolen Linderman Muhlke, formerly of Del Mar, California, died March 18, 2024, in Lafayette, Colorado, following a brief illness. She was 78.

Karolen was born July 3, 1945, in Washington D.C. to Sidney and Eugenia Linderman. After graduating from Stone Ridge School in 1963, she studied at Manhattanville College for 2 years.

In 1965, she married Charles E. Snee III, and they had two sons, Charles (Chad) and Peter.

Karolen married John H. Muhlke in 1975 and welcomed stepdaughter Christine Muhlke to her family.

In 1979, Karolen moved to San Diego, California, where she continued her business career by managing several successful furniture stores. She retired from retail management work in 1994, and spent the next eight years working in marketing for the San Diego Tribune in the Sign On San Diego digital platform.

After retiring, Karolen enjoyed traveling to visit her children and grandchildren in Florida, Ohio, Kansas, and Colorado, as well as taking trips to see friends. She loved being out and about in Del Mar, both volunteering and enjoying local restaurants and, of course, the beach. Viewing sunsets over the Pacific was one of her favorite things, and she often sent beautiful photos of her amazing sunset views to her family and friends.

Karolen is survived by her children, Charles E. Snee IV (Lynne) of Troy, Ohio, and Peter C. Snee (Jennifer) of Westminster, Colorado, and her grandchildren, Katelyn, Charlotte, Margaret, Cole, Liam, and Dane Snee.

She is also survived by her brother John R. Linderman of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Sarah P. Linderman of Arlington, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles E. Snee III, and her second husband, John H. Muhlke.

The family will be having a private memorial service at a future date.
