Karen Bezuidenhout Mallon Obituary

Karen Bezuidenhout Mallon passed at 8:36 pm on 2/1/2024.

Karen was proudly known for her determined, hard-willed attitude, manner, and outlook on life. Born in Middletown, OH, Karen grew up in a family of independent women (Grandmother Golden and Mother Jewell). Continuing that legacy, Karen was the first in her family to attend and graduate college (Cal State LA). She married, had two children (Tim and Kerry), divorced and was a fierce single parent. Wherever Karen lived (California, Mass, Colorado), she gathered a group of strong women around her, the most important being Sandy Mandelar, her best friend until Sandy’s death. She was a dog lover, never without a minimum of two Scotties in her life. She embraced painting, sports, the outdoor life, and animal rescue. She dove full in to activities, from softball, coaching kids’ sports, to jeeps and snowmobiles, and open sea boats. Boston sports has lost a faithful fan. Karen held a special place in her heart for Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue, of whom she was honored to be the Club President. Karen was the proud grandmother of three strong ladies (Annabelle, Courtney, and Mackenzie). She loved many and was loved by many. Karen was with family and her dogs at the end and is now at peace.
