Judith Rogers Obituary

Judith Talcott Rogers (1941-2020)

Judith Talcott Rogers, also lovingly known as “nana”, “Grandma Judi”, and Judi with an “i”, passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2020 in Broomfield, Colorado. Judi was born to Lester and Ida Talcott in Waukegan, Illinois where she spent most of her childhood and young adult life.  She was an only child who enjoyed taking care of her ponies and was her high school homecoming queen.

Judi had a devout belief and passion for her Talcott family heritage who settled and founded Hartford, Connecticut.  From that passion she learned the Talcott family were descendants of the Mayflower and she later became a member of the Mayflower Society.

By the time Judi was 26, she was married to Lieutenant Colonel John P. Rogers and was living in Evergreen, Colorado, raising 10 kids.  She always had a love for West Point, NY and West Point Military Academy where the family was stationed in the Army for 4 years.  Judi was a very spiritual woman who loved the Lord, and even had her own travel business, Mission Tours, that supported missionaries around the world.

Judi was an English major at Northwestern University and had an incredible talent for writing poems. While living in Atlanta, Georgia, she became heavily involved in “Toastmasters” and became one of their best speakers and was well known in the community where she also developed strong relationships.

After a serious heart condition and stroke in 2016, Judi eventually succumbed to Vascular Dementia and was moved to Colorado to be closer to her family.   Judi was loved by all who came to know her, and although she will be greatly missed, her family is at peace knowing she is in heaven singing God’s praises.  She is survived by 10 kids and 11 Grandchildren and her memory will live on inside our hearts forever.
