Joyce Louise Dodson, 85, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024. Born on April 1, 1939, in Queensbury, New York, she was the daughter of Percy Stanley Wilcox and Hazel Louise Corlew. Joyce began her career in the medical field but soon found her true calling in caring for children and families. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to others were hallmarks of both her personal and professional life.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Dodson, and her adopted daughters (biological granddaughters), Danielle and Jessica Dodson. Joyce was preceded in death by her sons, Donald, Timothy, and Eddie. She is also survived by her former husband, Harry Dodson, and was predeceased by her late husband, Robert Bounda. Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren and great- grandchildren: Caitlyn Dodson, Zach Dodson, Chloe Murray, Carter Brummett, and Baron Fawcett.
Joyce's life was marked by her compassion, love for family, and unwavering commitment to caring for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate life will be held on Sunday, August 18th, at 5:30 p.m. at The Chateaux at Fox Meadows, 13600 Xavier Ln. Broomfield, CO 80023. A light meal will follow the ceremony.
In keeping with Joyce's wishes, the family requests that guests bring a single flower either to the memorial service for transport or to her resting place. Her resting place is at Broomfield County Commons Cemetery, 12800 Sheridan Blvd., Broomfield, CO 80020 (located in the niche wall, Pikes Peak section).
